Pokemon X and Y Walkthrough - Glittering Cave
<- Route 9 Walkthrough Index Route 8 Part 2 ->

The first part of Glittering Cave controls like Lumiose City, with the camera behind your character. The main path forward leads all the way to the next area, so this first part isn't as confusing as it may initially seem. The side paths that lead off the main path have items like a Hard Stone and TM 65 Shadow Claw.

Eventually, the main path empties out to a larger area where you'll have an encounter with a Team Flare member.

Continue along the path to find two more Team Flare members. It appears they're trying to sell Fossils to make money. Your rival pops in for a team battle.

Walk past the two grunts and you'll eventually find an Escape Rope and the Fossil Lab assistant. He has two fossils to give, so you get to choose one and your rival gets the other. The Jaw Fossil resurrects into Tyrunt, a Rock/Dragon Pokemon that looks like a tyrannosaurus rex. The Sail Fossil resurrects into Amaura, a Rock/Ice Pokemon that looks similar to a diplodocus. Either way, the Pokemon will be level 20 once it's resurrected. Use the Escape Rope to instantly teleport outside and make your way back to the Fossil Lab.

Turn your fossil into the lab's assistant at the front desk and he will resurrect it. Talk to the scientist on the right side of the lab to get an Aerodacylite. It can be used to Mega Evolve Aerodactyl, who can be resurrected from Old Amber that's found by smashing rocks. Now that you have a new Pokemon, it's time to go to the second part of Route 8 through the aquarium.
