Episode 085: In the Pink As the group sets out on Lapras once again, Misty wonders when Togepi will learn any attacks. Suddenly, our heroes are sucked into a giant whirlpool! When they wake up, they find themselves on a beach. Tracy decides that they are on Pinkan Island, where no humans have ever set foot, due to the rough currents and rugged cliffs on the shoreline. The group climbs up the cliffs and find, to their surprise, a pink Rhyhorn eating berries! Tracy sneaks up to it and begins to sketch it. Ash decides to be direct and walks up to Rhyhorn to pet it, only to enrange the Pokemon. Rhyhorn charges them, until they are cornered on a tall cliff. Rhyhorn charges, but before he reaches them, Togepi waves its arms and transports them safely away, as the Rhyhorn plunges down the cliff and lands on a tree sticking out from the rock. Ash and the others are safe, as Officer Jenny drives up in a jeep! She demands to know why they are on Pinkan Island, which is a protected area. They have bigger problems, because Rhyhorn is still trapped in the tree! Ash and Tracy climb down with ropes and tie them around Rhyhorn, while Jenny pulls them all up using her jeep. Ash finds Pikachu eating some berries and discovers that Pikachu's tail has turned pink! Jenny tells Ash that the Pokemon turn pink after eating the Pinkan berries, but they will only stay pink only as long as they eat them. Meanwhile, Team Rocket has seen the rescue of the pink Rhyhorn, and land on the island planning to steal more pink Pokemon. They find some Nidoran, but the Nidoran lead them to a cave where a very upset pink Nidoking isn't too pleased about Team Rocket's arrival. Back at Jenny's station, Ash calls Prof. Oak to tell him about the island. Oak already knows about the island, which is kept a secret to keep poachers from putting the rare Pokemon on exhibit only for fame and money. As Ash hangs up, an alarm goes off, alerting them about poachers on the island. Team Rocket is still being chased by Nidoking, but Arbok, Weezing and Lickitung knock it out, just as Jenny, Ash and the others arrive. Pikachu shocks them, but in the process awakens the Nidoking, which tail whips Team Rocket off the island. Nidoking is still mad, and begins to chase Ash and the others in the jeep. They try to battle it, but their Pokemon are too scared of the giant Nidoking. Nidoking corners them in a canyon and lanches a Hyper Beam at them, but at the last second, Togepi waves its arms and creates a barrier which deflects the beam. Nidoking charges, and Jenny tells the kids to take cover. She uses a lasso and ties up Nidoking until he faints. Later on, Jenny takes them out past the whirlpool and makes them promise not to tell anyone about the island. Meanwhile, Misty wonders if Togepi helped them with Nidoking.
