Episode 075: A freind in Deed

After winning his fourth battle, Ash, his friends and Prof. Oak enjoy a nice meal prepared by Ash's mom. While leaving the restaurant, they share an elevator with a boy named Richie. The elevator breaks down and it looks like they could be stuck for a while, but Richie manages to power the elevator back up, with a little help from Pikachu. Ash thanks Richie, who is also a Pokemon Trainer and they all head back to the League Village. At the village, inspectors are taking everyone's Pokeballs for a surprise inspection, but Ash notices something strange about the officials. No wonder, it's Team Rocket, who speed off in a van with everyone's Pokeballs and Ash's Pikachu! Ash and Richie track them down through the night and in the morning try to free their Pokemon while Team Rocket is still asleep. However, just as Ash finds Pikachu, Team Rocket wakes up, locks them in the back of the van and races off! As they bump down the road, Ash frantically looks for his Pokeballs, but there are tons of balls in the sack. Fortunatly, Richie's Pokeballs are marked with stars, making them easy to find. Richie uses his Charmander to slash a hole through the wall of the van. Jessie sends out her Arbok while Ash sends out his Pikachu. Richie also joins in with Sparky, his own Pikachu! They both use Agility, which really confuses Arbok. The double Thundershock sends Team Rocket blasting off again, but leaves Ash and Richie stuck on the runaway van, which plummets off a cliff. Calling out Butterfree and Pidgeotto, they both are brought slowly to the ground. They return everyone's Pokeballs, then both head towards the League Stadium to sign up for the fifth round. However, when Ash draws the name of his opponent he finds that it's none other than Richie.
