Episode 074: Foruth Round Rumble
After a long, hard battle, Gary Oak is defeated in the fourth round of the Indigo League! Now the pressure to win in the name of Pallet Town is on Ash. Meanwhile, Team Rocket is selling trinkets and fake League Badges in the stadium lobby, trying to come up with a plan to steal Pokemon. Ash finds his fourth round opponent is Jeanette Fisher, a beautiful grass type trainer, with more cheerleaders than Gary and who instantly catches Brock's attention! Jeanette sends out a Beedrill, who falls to Ash's Bulbasaur. She then sends out Scyther, a bug type who is more than a match for Bulbasaur. Using Double Team, Bulbasaur becomes confused about where Scyther is, but Ash knows that using Double Team, Scyther's defense has fallen. Bulbasaur defeats Scyther with a Vine Whip. Meanwhile, Team Rocket tries to distract some trainers as they steal their Pokemon with a balloon filled with stuffed Pikachu dolls, but some Officer Jenny thwarts their plans and give chase. Team Rocket escapes by disguising as food vendors. Back to the match, Jeanette sends out her last Pokemon, a Bellsprout. Ash feels a little cocky about facing a puny Bellsprout and order Bulbasaur to attack. But Bellsprout neatly avoids all Bulbasaur's moves and defeats him! Ash sends out Pikachu, but Pikachu's electric shocks have no effect on Bellsprout, who uses its legs as a ground. Ash has to choose his last Pokemon carefully, and he chooses... Muk! Bellsprout tries its best, but Muk just absorbs the attacks. Muk slams Bellsprout and Ash wins his match, thanks to his mucky Pokemon, who gives Ash a big mucky hug! Meanwhile, Jessie and James find that selling snacks is much easier than being evil... could it be that they've finally changed their ways?... Nah.
