Episode 042: Song of Jigglypuff

Ash and his pals reach Neon Town, a town that never sleeps. As they walk down the street, he bumps into a rude man. They begin to argue when Officer Jenny shows up on her motorcycle and demands that they stop. Jenny tells the kids that everyone on town is on edge because they don't get enought sleep, before speeding away to break up another fight. Meanwhile, Jessie and James find out for themselves how unfriendly the townfolk are. The next morning, Ash and the rest leave town and head into the forest, where they find a Jigglypuff! Misty tries to battle it with her Starmie, but when Jigglypuff gets hit, it just begins to cry. Misty apologizes while Ash consults his Poke-Dex, which tells Ash that Jigglypuff can sing. They ask Jigglypuff to sing, but it refuses. They figure out that its lost its voice and can't sing. Meanwhile, Team Rocket is spying on Ash (as usual) and plot to steal Jigglypuff and use its song to put everyone in Neon Town to sleep, then rob them blind. They appear and sing the Team Rocket Rock, only to be chased away by Bulbasaur and Starmie. Later, Misty tries to help out Jigglypuff with its singing, but they don't work out too well. Finally, Brock finds tree with special fruit that can soothe a sore throat. Jigglypuff tries some and it begins to sing. Misty then asks Jigglypuff to sing to them. Jigglypuff does, but they fall asleep! So does Team Rocket, who hid in the bushes to record Jigglypuff's song. Jigglypuff gets irritated and snags a marker from Ash's bag, then procedes to draw on everyone's faces. After they wake up, the kids try to see if their Pokemon can stay awake, but they all fall asleep except for Psyduck. But Psyduck is just sleeping with its eyes open! Brock then suggests they bring Jigglypuff to Neon Town, because the people there don't seem to need sleep! Team Rocket, hoping that Jigglypuff's song will put everyone to sleep, disguise themselves as a rock band and lend Ash and company an outdoor stage. Jigglypuff sings and everyone in town, including Team Rocket, falls asleep. Jigglypuff stops singing, finds everyone in town asleep, and once again draws on everyone's face. The next morning, everyone in town wakes up, and they are all in a good mood, even apologizing to each other for being rude. Even Team Rocket is happy, even though they messed up again. But Jigglypuff is gone, and Ash, Misty, Pikachu and Brock walk on to their next adventure, little knowing that Jigglypuff is following far behind. Prepare to fight! Meooooowth! Dat's riiiiiiiiiight! I am the handsome one, I'm the gorgeous one! Looking good is lots of fun, we get somethings wrong but we keep rolling along! We want to capture Pikachu, we hope to do it soon, And when we do we'll be the new stars of this, cartoon!
