Episode 031: The Ninja Poke-Showdown

The gang is lost again, and they stop at a waterfall to check the map, while Psyduck continues to annoy Misty. Misty wonders what she ever did to deserve a Pokemon like that. Unbeknowest to them, a Venonat is spying on them. They continue onto find the Fuchsia Gym, but find a strange mansion instead. Exploring it, they find the Venonat. Chasing after it, they run across a number of hidden traps until Ash finds himself in a hidden room, confronted with a mysterious ninja trainer named Aya, who challenges Ash to a match with her Venonat! Ash sends out Bulbasaur, who defeats Venonat with Leech Seed. When Ash wins, another trainer appears out of smoke, Aya's brother Koga! He explains that they are at the Fuchsia Gym and he challenges Ash to a match with him. Meanwhile, Team Rocket is outside the gym, plotting to break in and steal some Pokemon. Back inside, Koga begins the two on two battle. Ash calls out Pidgeotto while Koga uses another Venonat, who immediatly evolves into Venomoth. Venomoth knocks out Pidgeotto with Sleep Powder, so Ash calls out Charmander, but as they battle, Team Rocket drops in through the roof and after a Kabokie theater style motto, calls out their Pokemon to battle. Koga, Aya and Ash use their Pokemon to battle, but Team Rocket uses sticky webs to trap them. Misty tries to call out her Pokemon to help, but Psyduck is getting on her nerves again. Misty uses Ash's Dexter to try to find out what attacks Psyduck can use, but all his attacks are virutally worthless, and Psyduck begins to run around the room. Koga drops some Voltorbs on Team Rocket, but they use their sticky webs to catch them. One of them explodes, and in the smoke, Ash and the others escape. Pikachu and Charmander are still sticky and Team Rocket catches up with them. Psyduck panics even more, and refuses to return to his Pokeball. Meowth gets annoyed and begins to smack Psyduck around, and Psyduck's headache gets even worse. Suddenly, his eyes begin to glow and uses Disable and Confusion to whip Team Rocket and send them blasting off once again. Ash's Pokedex explains that when Psyduck's headache becomes too severe, Psyduck can use psychic attacks. Koga offers to trade one of his Pokemon for Psyduck, but Misty refuses and hugs Psyduck. Ash and Koga resume their match, with Ash using Charmander and Koga using Golbat. After a heated battle, Charmander defeats Golbat and Ash wins a Soul Badge! Koga and Aya go back to training, and Ash continues on his journey, while Misty hopes success doesn't go to Psyduck's head.
