Episode 017: The Island of Giant Pokemon

Ash, Misty and Brock awaken on a beach to find that Pikachu and three of Ash's Pokeballs are missing! Pikachu finds Ash's missing Pokeballs and releases Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander. The four Pokemon begin to search for their human partners. Meanwhile, Jessie and James awaken (thanks to a pesky Krabby), and discover that their Pokemon is missing too. They find a phone booth, but they have no change to call for help. Meanwhile, Ash's Pokemon run into Meowth, Ekans and Koffing. Meowth tries to get Koffing and Ekans to capture Pikachu, but they refuse, saying that they only obey Jessie and James, and there are no such things as bad Pokemon. Pokemon only do bad things because their masters are bad. Later, with Meowth tied up, they all sit around a campfire eating dinner, when a giant Rhydon appears. Untieing Meowth, they all run away. Meanwhile, Ash, Misty, and Brock escape a flying Zapdos, while Team Rocket has a run in with a Moltres. The next morning, all three groups begin once again to look for eachother, running into more giant Pokemon with bad tempers. Jessie and James try to call their boss collect, only to have him hang up on them. After being chased by a giant Pikachu and Kabutops, they end up in a runaway minecart along with Ash, Misty and Brock. As they race down the track, they find their missing Pokemon, who jump into the cart with them. They eventually derail and splash down in the lake, and find out that the entire island is actually a huge amusement park, and the giant Pokemon were all mechanical. Unfortunatly, during the minecart ride, they managed to destroy most of the park, which happened to be owned by the Team Rocket boss, Giovanni.
